Different sources have different roles. We identify the original publisher, content type, publication date and reuse conditions. Prepared integrations are distinguished from active source streams.

Permission before publication
GOV.UK and selected Devon, Birmingham and Wolverhampton council texts use their applicable Open Government Licence declarations. Birmingham library content and all Birmingham/Wolverhampton photographs are excluded. Selected LSE and 360info articles and PLOS abstracts use their stated Creative Commons terms with author credit and a link to the original. The prepared ONS integration is limited to bulletin metadata and complete Main points text under the applicable OGL terms. Third-party media, personal data and logos are not automatically covered. Only individually reviewed article-specific photographs or figures are displayed, directly from their original publisher URLs. Unclear, changed or unreviewed image rights mean no image, not a stock replacement. No source HTML, embedded video or tracking pixel is executed.
Source diversity is not verification
A department is a source for its own announcement. A published paper is a research record, not a universal conclusion. An expert feature contains an author’s analysis. Statistical bulletins retain their own periods and UK, Great Britain or England/Wales geography. None of these is presented as independent verification by England Today. International features are not relabelled as England-only news.
A growing edition
The current free sources do not provide comprehensive local or live breaking-news coverage. We add sources only when commercial reuse and automation conditions are clear. BBC, Reuters, PA and The Conversation are not connected news feeds.
